Install Procedural Wetness

The recommended installation uses Blender's extension system. Blender can then find add-on updates from the same repository.

Requirements

  • Blender 5.2 or newer
  • A mesh object for the wet surface
  • An active material on that mesh if you want wet-film shading

Water geometry can still be generated when the mesh has no material.

Install from the extension repository

  1. Open Edit > Preferences > Get Extensions.

  2. Open the repository settings and add a remote repository.

  3. Enter this URL:

    text
    https://blender.buruthebull.com/index.json
  4. Refresh the repository list.

  5. Search for Procedural Wetness and choose Install.

  6. Enable the extension if Blender does not enable it automatically.

Verify the installation

  1. Return to the 3D Viewport.
  2. Select a mesh in Object Mode.
  3. Press N to open the Sidebar.
  4. Look for the Wetness tab.

If the tab is present, continue with Create your first wet surface.

Install a downloaded ZIP

Use this path only when you received a versioned extension ZIP directly.

  1. Keep the ZIP intact; do not extract it.
  2. Open Edit > Preferences > Get Extensions.
  3. Open the extensions menu and choose Install from Disk.
  4. Select the Procedural Wetness ZIP and confirm the installation.

Update or remove the add-on

Manage Procedural Wetness from Preferences > Get Extensions:

  • Choose Check for Updates to install a newer repository version.
  • Disable the extension to hide its UI without deleting it.
  • Uninstall the extension to remove its files.

Disabling or uninstalling does not delete water already saved in a .blend.
